Contributor Biographies

Kennedi Jones is a sophomore at Toledo School for the Arts where she majors in creative writing. She has prose and poetry published in her school’s 2018 edition of the annual publication Volumes. She placed fourth regionally in the 2017 Power of the Pen competition where she advanced to be a state finalist.

Amanda Kabak is the author of the novel The Mathematics of Change and has had stories published in Tahoma Literary Review, Sequestrum, Midwestern Gothic, and other print and online periodicals. She has been awarded the Lascaux Review fiction award, the Al-Simāk award for fiction, the Betty Gabehart prize, issued by the Kentucky Women Writer’s Conference, and multiple Pushcart Prize nominations. She holds an MFA from Pacific University.

Susanna Lancaster is an author from Memphis, Tennessee. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing for Young People from Lesley University. Her first book, a YA novel of historical fiction, The Growing Rock, debuted from Harvard Square Editions in 2017. Her work has also appeared in Southern Writers Magazine, Balloons Lit. Journal, The Perpetual You, Dear English Major, Memphis Health + Fitness, and on the National Eating Disorders Association website. Having suffered from an eating disorder for many years, she wrote “Lunch Break” in the hopes that it would help show others the mental battles these illnesses bring and encourage those in recovery. She teaches English and Creative Writing at Southwest Tennessee Community College.

Frances Koziar is the author of the teen fantasy "The War of the Shard", nominated for iUniverse's Editor's Choice Award, and is seeking an agent for a diverse NA/YA fantasy novel. She has 10+ publications in literary magazines including in the Scarlet Leaf Review, the Yarn Review, and Gathering Storm Magazine.
