Interview with Corinne David,

Author of The Pomegranate Prophecy

Corinne David's debut novel, The Pomegranate Prophecy, is the kind of young adult novel that one reads in a matter of harried hours: once you find yourself in Stephanie's (the protagonist) world of Guardians, shape shifters, and memory-walking, you have to see the novel through to its explosive, twisting end.

Ms. David was kind enough to share answers with me about her writing experience.

SRJ: The book is so dynamic: We discover the world of Guardians as Stephanie does. Can you tell me about your plotting process as you wrote? How did you get this idea?

CD: The core story - the triplets and their friends and relations - has been floating around in the back of my head since I was a teenager, in one form or another. It was always a story about triplets going on a journey to rescue their kidnapped mother. I’ve always been obsessed with twins and triplets. Tim and Nick are very much a wish fulfillment projection of the kind of twin I’d have wanted to be.
