question the authenticity of this Messiah
who had been sent directly from above
to deliver the children of Zimbabwe from
their trials and tribulations.
But the prophet was truly anointed by
the Lord and right before everyone’s eyes,
the man that the medical doctor had so
recently certified as a paraplegic destined
to go through the rest of his life relying on
others to feed him, bathe him and replace
his soiled nappies with clean ones to keep
bed sores at bay.
The patient stood slowly, raised his
hand, looked at it in wonder and flexed
his fingers. The prophet flicked out a
spotless white hanky from his trousers
pocket and wiped the perspiration that
had accumulated on his brow during his
struggle with Lucifer.
“Sit up. God has taken mercy on you.
In this church we know that replies to
prayers are instant. We know that God
hears those who really pray to him. He
has answered my prayer for you and
you will walk out of this church on your
own two feet,” the man of God told the
man on the stretcher. The giant screens
and the huge PA system ensured that the
whole gathering received this message
personally.
The now ex-paraplegic sat up, then
stood up. For a moment he tottered on
his feet before jumping up and pushing
his stretcher to the open-mouthed doctor.
He knelt before his savior and expressed
his thanks. There, before the audience,
he handed over the keys to his Greendale
house saying that the Lord who had
returned his limbs to him would grant
him more wealth to buy a thousand more
houses.
That day many sinners were converted.
Many of them stood up to confess that
they had come to the church on the devil’s
mission. They had been hoping to find a
way to discredit the man of God in order
to send his followers back unto Satan. But
