Exercise To aid you in focusing your own learning have a go at the following: Think of something you are good at. Now write down how you became good at it. Think of something that you struggle with or don’t do so well at. Now write down what went wrong in your learning of this. Think of something that you do well now but at the time you didn’t want to learn. What kept you going? Why did you persevere with it? Think of something that you have taught / helped someone to do something. In particular the first time you had to do it. How did you get on putting it into words? Thinking of that time you taught / helped someone – think back to the moment you attempted to see how well they got it. How did it aid your understanding?
