Principles of learning
Introduction
The previous articles have focused on different areas to do with coaching.
These have covered areas such as what we do to improve, psychological
aspects of paddling, technical skills along with tactics and planning.
However, as a coach one of the critical areas is that of the learner. What
factors or baggage do they bring to the coaching session? Considering
these factors I want to look at some critical areas that have been found to
underpin successful learning.
“The conditions that we create for our learners are vital with the emphasis of
learning being on the student who is learning.” (Jarvis 2006)
