NRS Men ’ s Axiom Gore- Tex Pro drysuit www . nrseurope . com By Lyndon Williams

As a kayaking coach and avid paddler , the durability of my gear is of utmost importance . Over the last six years , I have settled for nothing less than Gore-Tex fabric for my drysuit , and its never let me down .
This year though was the time for replacement , and after hearing the hype about the new NRS Axiom being released in Gore-Tex Pro , it was top of the list of suits for me to try out .
Whether I ’ m coaching on the river , racing , or just out for a personal paddle , I need gear that can keep up with my demands of daily paddling . The Axiom has not only met but exceeded these expectations so far . The Gore-Tex Pro fabric is long known for its toughness and resistance to wear and tear , making it the perfect choice for someone like me who spends lots of hours on the water each week .
But after testing this suit solidly , its durability is not the only factor that sets the Axiom drysuit apart .
RE-DESIGNED FOR KAYAKERS
The cut and fit are specifically re-designed for kayakers ( I hear they worked with all the team paddlers to get this dialled ). The new cut allows for a full range of motion while executing strokes and getting in and out of kayaks . This attention to detail in the design ensures that the paddler can move comfortably and with ease , even in the most challenging conditions .
It ’ s easy to forget breathability as a choice factor when looking at drysuits , but having a solid breathable drysuit is essential to keep those base layers dry and you warm .
Even during the more intense paddling sessions , the Gore-Tex Pro fabric keeps me dry and sweat-free , making it comfortable to wear for extended periods . This breathability is particularly important during warmer spring days when the waters are cold , but the warmer air can make other drysuits feel stifling and uncomfortable .
Regarding aesthetics , the NRS Axiom drysuit is available in in blue and chartreuse . I chose the chartreuse option , which might only be for some as it ’ s a little bright , but its visibility on the water is a massive plus for me .
ESSENTIAL PIECE OF KIT
Over a few solid months of testing , the Axiom has proved its worth as an essential piece of kit in my gear bag . The combination of durability , breathability , and a comfortable fit makes it a perfect choice for serious paddlers who demand the best from their gear or if you want to maximise your fun and enjoyment on the water .
Whether you ’ re an athlete and coach like me or someone who spends a lot of time on the water , the NRS Axiom drysuit is an excellent option . Price : € 1,245
