RIO : “ Sea kayak , this is RIO . I have you and your colleague in my sight . ETA five minutes .”
MIDWAY1 : “ RIO , this is MIDWAY1 . Victim is conscious but hyperthermic and not able to paddle any further .”
Ask for this in emergency , although an experienced crew will do this automatically ( like the RIO ).
Top tip ! This is not a lifeboat crew , they happened to be first on the scene . Keep up clear communication .
