WHAT DOES THE PADDLE CABIN STAND FOR ?
Guided in life by our core values , setting up a business that had meaning and stood for what they believed in was so important . So , at the Paddle Cabin , they live by their values every day in everything that they do :
• Welcoming : hello is our favourite word . We love saying it to everyone , no matter your paddling ability .
• Happy : life ’ s too short to be anything else . Positivity and energy is our vibe .
• Curious : we are constantly discovering and developing at a pace that feels right .
• Responsible : we care . We care a lot . Staying safe , protecting our paddlers and respecting our environment is at our heart .
Over the last 12 years , Jo ’ s career has been around helping businesses be more responsible ; environmentally , socially and doing the ‘ right thing ’ for their customers , colleagues , and businesses . At the Paddle Cabin , being responsible means everything from keeping our paddlers safe , being inclusive for all who want to join our crew , discounted sessions for those who can ’ t afford to access paddleboarding , river clean-ups , working with responsible suppliers , using sustainable materials and respecting our environment .
They have partnered with three charities that address key issues important to them and their paddlers through awareness-raising , signposting and fundraising . They are working with Kent Wildlife Trust to enhance their role to support river ecosystems , West Kent Mind to focus on mental health and the well-being benefits of paddleboarding and Breast Cancer Now
because of the role that paddleboarding can play in physical and mental health recovery from a diagnosis of breast cancer .
Both balancing two jobs , they have worked hard over the last year to secure their coaching qualifications and turn their vision of the Paddle Cabin into a real-life business . They are so excited to have opened their cabin door on the 1st of May , to help everyone feel more at home on the water .
