It was only three hours to my first camp, the
weather was not great and I knew the box
canyons were relatively close. The night went
smoothly, except for the kerosene (I had decided
to take kerosene for the trip but I was now
thinking this was a mistake).
The morning brought snow, sleet, rain and more
sleet. It took a lot of hot tea to get some warmth
