Barking Rugby Club • Under 9’s won their group and finished runners up, the Under 12’s as well as winning their group were also winners at the Southend Festival. • The U7’s won every game at the recent Chingford Festival. Bowers & Pitsea FC • Bowers & Pitsea have reached the finals of the Essex Senior League Cup, after beating London Bari 4-1. The venue and dates are still to be decided. Brentwood Town FC • For a second year in a row, the U18’s have reached the final of the Pelly (Essex County) Cup after beating Great Danes 5-0. • U18’s won the EJA Championship for the first time in the club’s history. Canvey Island FC • Micky Wroe, the Canvey Number 10 in 1963/4 passed away earlier this year. • The club has signed on central defender Lynvall Duncan, central midfielder Tommy Kavanagh and defender/midfielder Ellis Sands. Cricket • Tributes flooded in over the death of John Wade, who passed away on Monday 26th March. John was heavily involved in the local cricketing world, and was the Youth Secretary for the South Essex District Cricket Board. Donations can be made to The Primary Club charity, via Rochford Hundred Golf Club. John will be sorely missed by the many people who knew or were coached by him. Essex County Bowls • Edward Morris reached the Semi-Finals of the Under 25 Singles (Nationals). • ECB finished 2nd in the County League Division 1 for the third successive year. • County Triples Winners were Brendan Glyde, John Andrews and Edward Morris. • Neil Jackson and Aaron Lyons were County Pairs Finalists.
