enjoyed in a fun and entertaining way. People get fitter and healthier while enjoying themselves. They get to learn new skills and mix with people from all walks of life in the name of sport. In addition, children benefit from a relaxed environment, allowing them to build confidence and increase awareness (for example, adding up runs, scores and points is an excellent way for children to practise mathematics, without consciously doing so). Important Community Role But more than this, these clubs play an important role in our community, whether it’s keeping kids busy and off the streets, experiencing love bloom on the touchline, or having somewhere friendly to go in your senior years when friends and loved ones are no longer around.
Playing sports can teach valuable
future skills
Sport England is investing £493m into 46 sports over the next 4 years. While an excellent scheme, with aims to be admired, they are still only investing in certain sports, and not all clubs will reap the benefits. Therefore it is important to support our local clubs, and to
encourage more people to join and experience the joy of being around like-minded people. The Pack’s view: support for grass roots sport should be passionately continued.
