LET ’ S MAKE IT PERSONAL
together . COVID taught us we cannot do any of this alone , so let ’ s get closer , embrace our differences and get personal !
We did not want to create just a magazine selling advertising space . It is an outdated business model , and any good business owner knows this . Through your support of The Pacifica Anchor , we will be providing a portion of ad dollars back into the community . We have partnered with the Pacifica Resource Center and the Boys & Girls Clubs supporting their efforts in the community . The health of our children and essential worker support for families , provided by The Boys & Girls Clubs and the support the PRC provides to families in need , is critical in these times .
In our inaugural issue we were blessed to speak with Archie Judan , a true servant leader in our community and the face of business in Pacifica . We had the opportunity to catch up with Rolando from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Pacifica and discover how they have succeeded in providing essential work for our parents and children during COVID . Christopher “ Tofer ” Stewart from the Pacifica Athletic Club has some encouraging words on staying healthy in the new year . Tofer is well-known for his contributions to the community and supporting children ’ s health and building strong competitive athletes . We are also super excited to bring you the amazing cartoon sketches and work of Rodney Housley . We look forward to telling his story soon . Up close and personal !
I look forward to having meaningful sit-downs with many , about your business , your hopes , dreams and goals . Our wish is that The Pacifica Anchor can and will “ Anchor ” our community together better than ever and challenge us all to be our best together ! Once again let ’ s work together and make it personal !
And now for a little personal information about us and personal gratitude for some very special people . I want to thank our Director of Operations Bill Brooks for coming on board and guiding us on our journey . There are not enough words to thank our VP of Marketing and Sales Carol Camacho . Not only is she the best person anyone could have in their lives , but an amazing photographer who shot our first cover . Carol , your talent , friendship and genuine love for Pacifica humbles me .
Without our early supporters none of this would be possible , Christopher and Sabrina and the whole crew at The Pacifica Athletic Center , Paige at the Magic Toy Box , Christina Stahl and Pete Lommori at REMAX , Kelly at Royal Bee Yarn Company , Anita at the Pacifica Resource Center , Rolando at the Boys & Girls Clubs , Lisa Eccleston at Eccleston Inc and Jay at the Green Room ( my brother from another mother ) who speaks to my heart . Rock On ! OJ at Thrive , best life coach around and a mentor for every kid out there . Our community market Oceana and Vasu for being essential during COVID . A shoutout to May at Kenny ’ s Café for surviving in the toughest industry right now . May , you are amazing , and we love your cooking .
Oh yes , to answer another question that keeps popping up . I am the new president of Fog Fest and look forward to serving the non-profits in Pacifica in this most meaningful way . Humbled to serve in this role . What an amazing team we have , to bring one of the best festivals in the area to Pacifica every year .
I can be reached anytime at jcrowe @ pacificaanchor . com or call me at ( 650 ) 420-7647 . Looking forward to moving forward and serving Pacifica with an open heart and open mind .
