“ It was one of the most inspiring moments of my life to get up and play the Allegro Moderato from Haydn ’ s Concerto No . 2 in G Major with YSO last spring ! It was such a tribute to my music teachers that I went from playing in the 2015 Concerto Competition with almost zero confidence and a lack of enthusiasm to winning the 2016 competition and performing solo — I could hardly believe it ! Er-gene Kahng brought out my intonation and musicality , while David Barg brought out my inner personality and motivation — I couldn ’ t have done it without them ! I am so excited about this year ’ s winner and can ’ t wait to play their concerto with the Ozark Philharmonic Youth Orchestras !”
