The OVCRD Report (May 2011-April 2014).2.10.14 | Page 78
Expansion will continue to be the way forward
for the OVCRD. It will assume more new
functions, as part of the larger initiative of
streamlining and rationalizing operations in
UP Diliman. New functions will naturally give
rise to new structures, programs, and
procedures.
Taking stock of what it had achieved in the past
three years vis-à-vis the larger environment in
the University, the OVCRD has identified the
following as the most urgent matters to be
addressed in the coming years:
1. To formalize the role of the OVCRD for
REPS – The Office would like to
consolidate all efforts towards enhancing
REPS welfare. While the
belong to
specific units, there should be one office
that coordinates all REPS-related matters,
and the OVCRD humbly presents itself to
assume this role.
2. To formally reorganize the Office from the
present with two sub-offices into the future
with four sub-offices, as follows:
a. Project Management Office (PMO),
currently the Project Management and
Resource Generation Office (PMRGO);
b. Copyright and Dissemination Office
(CDO), currently the Research
Dissemination and Utilization Office
(RDUO);
c. Invention and Business Office (IBO),
currently the Technology Transfer Team
under the RDUO; and
d. Extension and Consultancy Office
(ECO), currently lodged with the
OVCAA, as the Office of Extension
Coordination (OEC); the transfer of this
ffice to the OVCRD was recommended
Services, which was endorsed by the UP
Diliman Executive Committee.
3. To formalize the partnership with various
ffices with mandates of research and
reative work – these offices include the
Sentro ng Wikang Filipino (SWF), Office
for Initiatives for Culture and the Arts
(OICA), Center for Ethnomusicology (CE),
and Center for International Studies (CIS).
