Pasasalamat: A Celebration of Research Partnership
As
national university, UP
Diliman has an important role in producing
first-rate scientific researches and creative
works, and this immense undertaking would
not be realized without the support of research
and development (R&D) partners in the
different fields. To acknowledge
gratitude to UP Diliman’s
R&D partners, the OVCRD organized
, a thanksgiving dinner hosted by
the Office of the Chancellor. This event is also
a way of celebrating UP Diliman’s continuing
partnership with the public and private sectors
in R&D pursuits.
(PCHRD), Philippine Atmospheric,
Geophysical and Astronomical Services
Administration (PAGASA), Philippine
Institute of Volcanology and Seismology
(PHIVOLCS), National Research Council of
the Philippines (NRCP), Grants-in-Aid

Center for Ethnomusicology. Many of the
projects aim to produce patentable inventions
In 2011-2013, at least 140 individual projects
received funding support from UP Diliman’s
external partners. Most (119 or 85%) of these
projects were funded by the Department of
Science and Technology (DOST) or one of its
councils, institutes, or affiliated organizations.
They include the Philippine Council for
Industry Energy and Emerging Technology
Research and Development (PCIEERD),
Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic
and Natural Resources Research and
Development (PCAARD) Philippine Council

Pasasalamat is a way of
acknowledging and giving
gratitude to UP Diliman’s R&D
partners, and of celebrating
UP Diliman’s continuing

development pursuits.
