because our president had RL concerns. I was Jr VP at that time with the Alpha Chapter. Because some individuals in the group were not on board with the presidency turning over to me, it was not. Our president who was, and still is a great leader, made the hard decision to shut it down. I could not stand by as my beloved Sigma was no more on IMVU. So, with her blessing I started the Beta Chapter. I love Sigma and just the sisterhood that we have, the love we share, and the commitment we have to serving others. So that in a nutshell led me to open this chapter.
I: Your desire to start your own chapter and uphold the Sigma name speaks volumes on your love and passion for the sisterhood. It shows true dedication, something that is missing in a lot of organizations today.
MrsKilahDBD: Well thank you. I always hope that if anything shows it’s my love and dedication and that is why I was given the name I have and am proud to uphold…Big Sister Determined.
I: Dedication is a strong word, powerful.
MrsKilahDBD: Well that is why she gave me the name Determined because of my dedication out the gate. Even during pledging, I was doing what needed to be done and I crossed as a Big Sister. No one else did that in the Alpha Chapter but me. I was proud to be viewed as someone who could be trusted with the title, and not just the title but to uphold what it means to be a “big sister”.
I: What does “big sister” mean to you?
MrsKilahDBD: Well let me first say this…I tell my sisters that there are no big I’s and little U’s in Sigma and to not be offended to taken aback by the title. But with that that being said there is a chain of command and in the event you have to operate within the chain of command then that’s when the big sister role comes into play. To be a big sister means to behave with dignity, to be poised, to settle things with fairness and concern for all parties. A big sister should always be ready and prepared to lend a helping hand and a loving arm to one of her sisters and anyone for that matter.
I: You are on point with your answers girl lol. I would love to hear your honest opinion of the D9 community here.
