And the God of peace will be with you.” That is a direct command from God for us to use our creative talents and to surround ourselves in art. “Put it into practice.” That’s pretty simple. God made us creative for our own good. God is an artist God is an artist. “Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.” (John 1:3.) God is someone with a fantastic, massive personality and imagination. One of his many qualities is that he absolutely loves to create. In fact, you could say that it’s one of his hobbies. That’s exactly why we love to create too. “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him, male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:27.) Every single good quality in a person’s personality is an itsybitsy reflection of God’s personality. Little reflections of him are in every single human there ever was, is, or will be. That’s what it means to be made in his image. Right after God finished creating everything, he said it was very good (Genesis 1:31). That includes humans. Even though sin entered the world, we are still made in his image. And that’s quite something as the person who said that about us is the creator of everything. We are creative artists by nature because God is a creative artist. Art inspired by God God loves it when we create things that glorify him. He made us so that we can love and glorify him. Expressing our love for him using our creativity is partly what we were made for. Nothing we can do can ever change who God is or his abounding love for us, but we can still affect him emotionally. Our ability to experience emotions are a small reflection of God’s ability to experience emotions. Again, it’s no accident. He’s not some fake god made of wood sitting somewhere; he’s alive and real, and has tremendous emotions. God can feel sad, angry, and happy. And he loves us despite any-
