Simon Mitchell , of Simon Mitchell Associates , the architect for the project , attended the reception and said “ Designing the ADTC was a very enjoyable experience . We aimed to create an environment that celebrates imagination , challenges conventional thinking , and fosters the emergence of talent . Visiting the Centre to see art and design in action has been a very moving experience .”
The generosity of donors has played a significant role in the creation and continued success of the ADTC . One donor commented “ Investing in Pocklington School ’ s artistic vision has been a joy . We firmly believe in the power of nurturing young minds , inspiring them to discover their potential . Witnessing the incredible artworks on display tonight , we are proud that our small contribution has had such a profound impact .”
GIVING THANKS FOR FIVE YEARS OF CREATIVITY AT THE ART AND DESIGN TECHNOLOGY CENTRE
On Wednesday 5 July , at the end of the summer term , Pocklington School hosted a reception and exhibition to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the opening of the Art and Design Technology Centre ( ADTC ).
Staff , governors , life patrons , former and current pupils and parents joined supporters of the ADTC to enjoy drinks and canapés in the Howden Room , before viewing work from pupils from First Year to
GCSE and A level , with fine art , photography , and design technology pieces all on display .
Toby Seth , Headmaster , commented “ The Art and Design Technology Centre has transformed the educational landscape of Pocklington School . Our students now possess an unparalleled space where their artistic dreams can come to life . This journey would not have been possible without the unwavering support and vision of our donors .
Over the past five years , the ADTC has become one of the key spaces in School , and we were delighted to invite donors to view the art and design work on display here .

EASYFUNDRAISING GETS OFF TO A FLYING START
Pocklington School has partnered with easyfundraising to support its Shape the Future bursary campaign with over £ 500.00 in free donations raised so far .
Jenny Preston , Development Officer explains : “ We are using easyfundraising , a free fundraising platform that allows us to earn money when we shop online . Easyfundraising works with over 7,000 online retailers , everyone from Tesco , eBay , Sports Direct ,
M & S , Boots , Just Eat , Booking . com , and everything in between .
Once signed up all you need to do is start your shopping journey at the easyfundraising website , use the browser extension , or app , and the retailer you shop with will send us a free donation based on how much you spend .
OPs , staff , and current and former parents can now support the School ’ s Bursary Fund every time they shop online . This helps raise funds to support talented children who otherwise would not have the opportunity to attend Pocklington School - and it doesn ’ t cost a penny !”

1514 LEGACY CLUB
Development Officer , Jenny Preston , was delighted to welcome members of the School ’ s legacy society , the 1514 Club , to a drinks reception before the School Carol Concert in the Michaelmas term .
