Judges recognised the work of the school’s vibrant Careers and Business Network, supportive Old Pocklingtonian Association and individually-focused careers curriculum in giving each pupil the knowledge and insight to make informed career choices. The programme is built on our aim of making meaningful, productive and stimulating connections between current and former members of our community and so extending the school’s core values of Courage, Truth and Trust well beyond the school’s campus. “The Careers & Business Network, launched in 2017, has been a vital aspect to our success in this area. POCKLINGTON SCHOOL SCOOPS PIONEERING MENTAL HEALTH AWARD Pocklington School became the first boarding school in the country to be awarded the Boarding School Mental Health Award for its outstanding mental health and wellbeing provision. The school met the strict criteria demanded to achieve the award, established in 2017 by the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools (part of Leeds Beckett University) and social enterprise Minds Ahead. The award aims to strengthen pupils’ mental health by supporting schools to make a positive Assessors gave the school silver level in the award.
