James Mills ( 11-15 ) took a gap year after his A-levels and is now in his second year of a Law degree at the University of Manchester , which he started in September 2016 .
Jasper Poon ( 05-10 ) came back to school for a visit in May 2017 , seven years after he left . The visit was kept as a surprise for Angie Woodcock , the Matron of Dolman House , where Jasper was a boarder . After a school tour and a catch up with a number of his old teachers , Jasper visited the boarding house again before treating Angie to lunch . After his A-levels at Pocklington , Jasper returned to Hong Kong for his university education . He now works as a social worker with asylum seekers and refugees in Hong Kong .
Charlotte Prescott ( 05-12 ) successfully completed her ACCA professional accountancy exams in 2016 . She then did a dissertation at Oxford Brookes University which , combined with her ACCA exams , formed the final component of a BSc ( Hons ) degree in Applied Accountancy from the University in which she was awarded a first . She recently moved from PriceWaterhouse to Lloyd Dowson , an accountancy firm in Bridlington . In December 2016 she got engaged to her partner , Harry Foreman , whilst they were on holiday in New Zealand .
Victoria Prest ( 93-02 ) and sister , Rebecca Davidson ( née Prest , 91-97 ) have been upholding the family tradition , initiated by their grandfather in the early 1960s , of stewarding at the Great Yorkshire Show . Rebecca stewards the carcass competition and Victoria the live classes . Although the Prest family continues the farming tradition in the local area , neither Victoria nor Rebecca is on-farm today . Victoria is a journalist at York Press and Rebecca is a registrar at A & E in Leicester .
George Rainforth ( 10-14 ) gained a 2.1 in his Law degree from Bangor University . From September 2017 he is studying a law masters at the University of British Columbia , Vancouver after winning a full scholarship .
Harry Reynolds ( 09-12 ) studied Biochemistry at the University of Lincoln . He spent the first two years honing his laborartory skills and also became a College Officer . He is spending his thrid year on an industry placement working at British Chlorophyll where he runs the laboratory and liaises with national and international firms . He also started his dissertation . He is due to finish his degree in 2018 and then plans to study for his Masters with the long-term plan of leaving academia with a PhD .
Stephanie Room ( 96-07 ) was appointed Critical Care Outreach Sister in September 2016 , working as a Nurse Practitioner for Intensive Care across the Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust .
Louis Smith ( 99-10 ) went to Cordwainers at the London College of Fashion after his time at Pocklington . He then undertook a three-year apprenticeship with the shoemaker Roberto Ugolini in Florence , Italy , before returning to his home town of York to open his own business , Old Sole , making custom and bespoke shoes . Lucy Snowden ( 06-13 ) graduated from Newcastle University with a first class honours in her English Language and Literature degree in July 2017 . She started on the two-year Teach First programme in September 2017 and has been placed at Kingswood Academy in Hull for her training .
Lucy Soanes ( 05-12 ) graduated from Leeds Beckett University with a first class honours in International Relations and Global Development . She is furthering her studies at Leeds University with a Masters degree in Ecological Economics from September 2017 .
Lucy Stephenson ( née Cawood , 97-06 ) has been running The Fiddle Drill tea room in Goodmanham near Market Weighton since June 2016 . Based on the Yorkshire Wolds Way national trail , the tea room is a welcome resting point for walkers and cyclists and is growing in popularity , so much so that Lucie has extended her business hours to open five days a week , Wednesday to Sunday . Prior to starting the business , Lucie was marketing manager at Costcutter and prior to that product manager at Haribo .
Chris Sullivan ( 01-08 ) completed a BA in Fine Art and a Master ’ s in History of Art & Art World Practice . He is working as a Gallery Manager at a commercial art gallery and sculpture park , the New Art Centre , which is based near Salisbury in Wiltshire . In April 2017 , Chris ran the London Marathon to raise funds for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation . He completed the race in 4 hours 50 minutes and raised over £ 2000 for the charity .
Zanna Van Dijk ( 99-10 ), the personal trainer , fitness blogger and Instagram star , launched her first book in December 2016 . Entitled Strong , the book reveals Zanna ’ s no-fail formula for a powerful , lean physique and lasting health and happiness . It includes eighty exercises and forty recipes for achieving a fit , healthy and balanced body .
James Vincini ( 95-02 ) currently lives in California . He is head of marketing for Rekorderlig Cider which he has spent the last 3 years launching in the US . Prior to that he lived in Sydney for 5 years working at various advertising / events agencies and he is pleased to say he managed to get his citizenship whilst there .
James Watkins ( 98-09 ) passed his final APC assessment in 2016 to become a qualified Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors . After Pocklington , James studied Real Estate Management at Oxford Brookes University and is now a surveyor at Savills in London .
Jonathan Webb ( Former Staff , 03-12 ), former teacher at Pocklington School , has been appointed Headmaster of Ripon Grammar School from September 2017 . During his time at Pocklington , Jonathan was Head of History and then Director of Teaching and Learning . He left Pocklington to become Deputy Headmaster ( Academic ) at Durham School . He has previously worked at The Manchester Grammar School and Giggleswick School .
Lewis Wilson ( 14-16 ) is studying sports marketing at Leeds Beckett University . He is also a member of the Yorkshire Carnegie rugby squad and played for England under-19s against France a year after making his debut for England under-18s . He plays at flanker and last season was on loan to National League Two North team Wharfedale , making 14 appearances and scoring five tries for the team . He also returned to Carnegie to make his debut in the British and Irish Cup games against the Dragons Premiership Select . One of his targets for this season is inclusion as an England Under-20 .

Daniel Wright ( 97-04 ) studied History at Southampton University then moved to London to do a law conversion course . Since qualifying , he has worked in several legal roles , latterly working as a County Court Advocate at Lyons Davidson Solicitors in their London office .
