We had two weeks in March where most of the state was at 70 degrees and in the mountains, it was 60 degrees. We had less than a week of production. That’s why our numbers are skewed. Our response rate on our survey was great. Our folks tried. You can’t make syrup in these conditions. People were down at least 50 percent and in some cases more than that. It turned the right conditions in April,but their trees had given out or they didn’t have enough taps and tap holes had started to heal. Some of the northern guys got some, but in the southern part of the state, it wasn’t productive. Sugar content was low. There just wasn’t any time. We had red maple trees budding in March and had a freeze in April. We had some off flavor. When quality goes down, people try to be contentious about it.
