T
he 2015 sugaring
season was delayed
by two weeks or more
for Indiana syrup makers as cold weather held
on until the first week of
March. Even then, with
sunny skies and a favorable temperature range, many producers saw only meager sap runs. Some
veterans speculate that deeply frozen
soil – something Hoosiers have seldom
experienced in recent years – contributed to the delay.
