SUMMARY OF SEASON
W
isconsin’s 2015 maple syrup production was 215,000
gallons, up 15,000 gallons from 2014.
This marks the state’s second highest production on record, yet remained well behind the record 265,000 gallons
produced in 2013. The number of taps increased by 60,000 in
2015 to an all-time high of 760,000 taps.
Yield was 0.283 gallons per tap, slightly less than the 0.286
gallons per tap in 2014. In 2014, the average price Wisconsin
maple syrup producers received was $33.40 per gallon, down
$4.00 from 2013.
The 2015 Wisconsin maple syrup season began on February 28, eight days earlier than last year. The season ended on
April 15, compared with May 4 last year. This year’s season averaged 23 days, the same as in 2014.
