2014 MAPLE HALL OF FAME The 2014 Induction ceremony to the American Maple Museum Hall of Fame was held at the museum in Croghan, New York on May 17, 2014. Inducted were Jacques Couture of Westfield, Vermont, who was presented by former inductee Gary Gaudette, and Don and Betty Ann Lockhart, of Charlotte, Vermont, who were presented by former inductee David Marvin. Past inductees from the United States and Canada, who were present at the ceremony, gathered, and joined the new inductees for the 2014 photo in front of museum sign. Also on Saturday, New York County Maple Queens and Princesses competed for the honor of becoming the NYS State Maple Queen and NYS State Maple Prin- + cess. Speeches by these young women demonstrated their in depth knowledge of all aspects of the maple industry, and their ability to convey it to the public. Founded in 1977 and incorporated to preserve the history, tools and equipment of the maple syrup industry, the American Maple Museum has recently made a number of improvements. New large and accessible restrooms, an exterior access ramp, elevators to all floors, and ceiling fans all help to make the museum more “user friendly”. With its large collection of historical and modern exhibits, the American Maple Museum is now on track to provide individual travelers and motor coach tourists, with a comfortable experience and a comprehensive view of the entire maple industry.
