Season’s Greetings to all of our
readers
There’s a lot of people getting a bit excited at the
moment. You can’t escape it. It’s everywhere and
before you know it you’ll be getting in the spirit
yourself.
Of course I’m talking about the new Star Wars film.
I do go on a bit about it in my film column on page 9.
But, there’s also that other thing going on. That
Christmas thing. And we also go a bit mad about that
as well.
Being the father of three children, I love a bit of
Christmas myself. The kids are more excited than that
time they witnessed me scream when a frog jumped
out at me. It was a scary frog, alright! Stop going on
about it. I think it had a knife.
Anyway, we’ve now got this whole month to get us
all aglow with festive cheer and there’s loads going
on in Wiltshire to make the season just that tiny bit
jolly as we’ve got a magazine that’s fuller than about
15 stockings.
Talking about stockings, my parents used to use
tights instead. It was a hell of a thing watching us all
try to inch out whatever delights they had piled in
there. Except I never ate the tangerine that was at
the bottom despite it taking about half an hour to get
out. I’m sure the uneaten tangerine is a metaphor for
something. I’ll work out what by next Christmas.
