Noteworthy Music store NOT closing in Chippenham
After speculation and rumour was floated around on social media , Noteworthy Music in Chippenham have confirmed they will not be closing their doors any time soon . The music store , run by Colin and Sue Harding , has been a feature of Station Hill for many years and looks set to stay .
Posting on the store ’ s facebook page , employee Joe Cooper said : “ We have been told that someone has put that we ( Noteworthy ) are selling up and closing down all over the internet . I would just like to clarify that this is not the case and when the time comes that it is happening we will announce it .”
We at The Ocelot would just like to breath a collective sigh of relief as too many independent music stores continue to shut down across the country .

Salisbury ’ s Winchester Gate changes hands – a badger is now in charge !
One of Salisbury ’ s much loved little venues , the Winchester Gate , has changed hands and is now being run by a badger . No , not an actual badger , just Robb Blake of Brave Promotions . In all seriousness , we will be surprised if there is not a massive party held in honour of the previous owners and for Robb ’ s takeover of this charming little pub , as many would have been worried for its future had it not gone to such a pillar of the local musical community .
We ’ d like to congratulate Robb and wish him all the success moving forward . We will sneak in and make sure to sample your wares when we are next in Salisbury !

Pewsey Music Festival kicks off on August 6 with an absolutely brilliant line-up including national festival favourites Tankus the Henge ( pictured ) and chaotic 70s cult icon John Otway . The festival , held at Coopers Field will also include local heroes Sonic Meds and London rockers Blurred Vision . Launched in 2007 to celebrate diverse live music in a rural setting in the idyllic and dramatic Pewsey Vale , and this is just made better by the stunning line-up and great team that help make this festival special every year .
