The Swan at Bradford on Avon

Live Music

Slagerij
The Cellar Bar of The Swan in Bradford on Avon is relaunching in September as a live venue with improved lighting , sound system and a fully kitted out bar area . Regular musos on the West Wiltshire scene will probably be reading this thinking ‘ The Swan is already a venue ’ but owner James Sullivan-Tailyour is keen to support more than just the blues and jazz performers who have frequented the Cellar Bar .
James said “‘ We want to offer something different in the town , which already has a rich musical base , providing a relaxed comfortable venue with a wide range of music including Blues , Jazz , Pop , Folk , Blue Grass , Country , Americana . Roots and more .”
Regularly hosting the Bradford on Avon folk club , as well as other key arts events in the town , The Swan is now poised to become one of the bastions of musical talent in the West Wiltshire area by opening its doors to all comers , a move that we are certain will be welcomed by the county wide members of the arts community .
Usually on the last Thursday of each month ‘ Words & Ears ’ - the Bradford on Avon Poetry group , meet with a guest poet and floor spots available , which we hope will continue under this new all-wecloming ethos of the Cellar Bar .
The Swan itself has the comfort and style of a quality hotel in Bradford on Avon with the character and charm of an old country inn . The accommodation is housed in a grade II listed building situated in the heart of historic Bradford on Avon , adjacent to the 14th Century bridge crossing the river .
Within easy driving distance of the Roman city of Bath , Longleat House and Safari Park , Lacock Abbey and National Trust Village , Stonehenge , Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole , the hotel is great for tourists and now local music lovers alike .
Entry to the new venue will be free and there will also be food available from the venue space or upstairs in the main establishment , so you can enjoy the full Thai inspired menu on offer whilst listening to a variety of musical stylings .
