Festivals
Cropredy Festival:
August 11 - 13
Tinie Tempah
Hayseed Dixie
Sometimes pigeon-holed
as simply a folk festival,
Fairport Convention’s
Cropredy is as much as
general music festival as
any other, if not more so
with acts such as Madness
and Hayseed Dixie
reinforcing that statement
this year. Along with the
finest in folk and folk rock,
from Lindisfarne, Steeleye
Span, Ralph McTell and
Cara Dillon, the Cropredy
audience over the years
have seen the likes of
Alice Cooper, Robert
Plant, Status Quo and The
Buzzcocks. So this isn’t just
a bunch of people in straw
hats clutching banjos, this is
a serious contender on the
festival scene for all ages.
As well as the
aforementioned acts,
Fairport Convention
themselves will be
joined by the Bootleg
Beatles, Coco and The
Butterfields, Headspace
and Babylon Circus. www.
