East Greenwich Police Chief Named“ Law and Public Safety Game Changer” by Gloucester County NAACP
NJSACOP 3rd Vice President, East Greenwich Police Chief Matthew Brenner was honored with the“ Law & Public Safety Game Changer” award during the Gloucester County NAACP’ s Black and White gala earlier this month.
The gala, which took place in Deptford, honored community leaders for their dedication to upholding the NAACP’ s vision of eliminating race-based discrimination in public service.
Gloucester County NAACP President Loretta Winters has strong praise for Brenner, lauding his efforts to build diversity within the East Greenwich Police Department to best serve the local community.
“ Chief Brenner is an incredibly well-respected leader and community pillar who serves as a great role model for the next generation of public servants,” Ms. Winters said.“ He always does the right things at the right time, and it was an honor to present him with a Game Changer award.”
Chief Brenner has been a member of the East Greenwich Police Department for 24 years, serving as Chief of Police since 2019. He adheres to a“ servant-leadership” philosophy, leading to the department’ s first-ever state accreditation in 2023. Chief Brenner also serves as 3rd Vice President of the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police.
“ This is a tremendous honor recognizing our team’ s dedication to building trust through outreach, mentorship and diversity in law enforcement,” Chief Brenner said.“ It reflects the collaborative leadership of our department and Chiefs Associations at the county and state levels. The award reaffirms the impact of our youth and school programs, diversion initiatives and community engagement that set new standards for public safety in New Jersey.
