113th ANNUAL NJSACOP TRAINING CONFERENCE
Each June, the NJSACOP convenes our organization’ s largest and most important event The Annual NJSACOP Training Conference and Police / Security Expo. The Conference combines prominent speakers and training professionals, high-profile incident reviews, and valuable leadership insights for the police executive along with social and networking functions, highlighted by the Installation Banquet. This year’ s event marks our 113 th Annual Conference.
The Conference is also a time to learn, share ideas, establish a communications network, and renew friendships. The emotional high point of the Installation Banquet is the NJSACOP Valor Awards, presented to law enforcement officers who have gone over and above the call of duty to help their fellow citizens at the peril of their own safety, or even life.
Our annual Police / Security Expo is one of the largest law enforcement-related tradeshows in North America. Approximately 650 vendors and about 6,000 attendees converge on the Atlantic City Convention Center for two days to view and try out the latest in tools, technology, hardware and software for the police and security professional.
This year’ s Conference kicks off with the Host Chief’ s Night Reception on Monday, June 23 rd at“ The Yard” at the Bally’ s on the word-famous Atlantic City Boardwalk.
The educational portion of our Conference commences the following morning, Tuesday, June 24 th when Deputy Chief AJ DeAndrea( Ret.), Arvada, CO Police Department and his daughter Madalena DeAndrea will present a program entitled“ Dark Nights of the Soul; When Terror Hits Home.”
On Wednesday, June 25 th, Robert J. Darling, President & CEO, Turning Point Crisis Management-USA will present“ 24 Hours Inside the President’ s Bunker; 9 / 11 / 01: The White House.”
In addition to these main training opportunities, there will also be seminars and presentations throughout the Police / Security Expo taking place at the Atlantic City Convention Center.
The Annual Conference is a chance for our entire membership and our colleagues and friends to come together for professional development, networking and fellowship.
The Conference concludes with the annual Installation Banquet, when our new association president – Chief Andrew Caggiano – will be sworn in. The Banquet also features the presentation of the New Jersey Police Chiefs Valor Awards, as well as keynote remarks from NJSP Superintendent Pat Callahan.
As usual, we are looking forward to a productive, informative, and enjoyable Conference.
