1962 At the monthly state police chiefs meeting , Perth Amboy Chief John Swallick of the New Jersey Police Training Commission reported that , as per the recently enacted law , was now organized , and an Executive Director had been selected . “ However , with the election of a new Governor , and appointment of a new Attorney General , it would take some time to begin functioning .
1968 The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that the National Crime Information Center ( NCIC ) terminal for New Jersey , which “ one day will be linked with nation-wide computerized information network ,” will be operational beginning February 1 st . The paper reported that terminal equipment was installed and special lines laid between Washington and West Trenton “ through the efforts of the State Police NCIC Unit and the NCIC Committee of the New Jersey Police Chiefs Association .”

1978 The NJSACOP Monthly State Chiefs Meeting for February 1978 was conducted at The Hilton Inn in East Windsor , NJ . Chief Coppolino made a motion “ to send a letter to Mr . Joseph , Director of Divisions of Pensions advising him that the Association objects to other organizations being slipped into our Pension System and reaping benefits from it , and in the future that we are advised when ills of this nature are going through .” Motion seconded and carried .
