EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR ’ S REPORT

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR ’ S REPORT

MITCHELL C . SKLAR
A Point of Personal Privilege
The New Jersey Police Chief Magazine | April 2024
The Executive Director ’ s Report from the April 1999 New Jersey Police Chief Magazine began with this sentence : “ Earlier this month , I received the honor of being selected as the Association ’ s new Executive Director .” With those words , I introduced myself to our Association ’ s membership 25 years ago , and with your indulgence I would like to use this , the April 2024 Executive Director ’ s Report to express my deep pride and gratitude for being given the tremendous honor of serving as this Association ’ s Executive Director . I am truly grateful and humbled for the opportunity to be associated with this exceptional organization , and to work with such a dedicated and talented membership . I am thankful for the support and hard work of our Board of Officers ( past and present ), as well as for the hard work and dedication of our State Association staff . I also want to thank our President and Board of Officers for the kind recognition of this personal milestone at the April State Chiefs Briefing .
So much has occurred over the past twenty five years that I will not take the time ( or try your patience ) with a string of memories or “ thank-yous ”. Instead , I will end this month ’ s message with the exact words that I ended that first Executive Director ’ s Report 25 years ago : “ I am proud to be associated with the New Jersey Chiefs of Police , and I look forward to working with all of you in the months and years ahead .”
