1936 The NJSACOP Monthly State Chiefs Meeting for May 1936 was held at the Court House in Newark , NJ . A communication from N . J . State Police Superintendent H . Norman Schwarzkopf received by the Association was read to the membership “ enclosing an invitation to the membership of this association to attend and take part in the demonstration of sound motion pictures to the identification of criminals ….”
1941 At the May 1941 State Chiefs Meeting , a letter was read that
H . Norman Schwarzkopf Suupt . NJ State Police
had been received from the “ Chamber of Commerce at New Brunswick from C . Suydam Cutting of New York regarding the sending of confiscated weapons to him to be sent to the British Government .” Following discussion , it was decided to notify the Chamber of Commerce “ to have a bill passed which would enable Police to give these weapons to the British War Relief .”
1980 Chief Polhamus reported at the May monthly NJSACOP Meeting that the Statewide Police Emergency Network ( SPEN ) became a reality on April 30 th , and that implementation of base stations will be included . The Chief thanked all of the Chiefs and NJSP Superintendent Pagano for their efforts in promoting the SPEN program . Deputy Superintendent Brennan of the State Police addressed the membership and extended the State Police ’ s support to help make the new system a success .
1989 At the Monthly State Chiefs Meeting it was reported that the “ Deal P . D . was firebombed on May 4 th . Four to six ‘ Molotov Cocktails ’ were thrown into Chief Galvin ’ s office .”
2004 At the May 2004 State Police Chiefs Briefing , Executive Director Sklar announced the “ NJSACOP ’ s newest executive level training program … The Gettysburg Leadership Experience Staff Ride .”
