NJSACOP Podcast Spotlights Leaders in Law Enforcement
By Jonathan Jaffe , Jaffe Communications
When longtime NJSACOP Executive Director Mitch Sklar suggested the development of a podcast series as a new way to highlight the many leaders in law enforcement connected with the association , he was quickly asked : Are there enough prominent guests to sustain an ongoing show ?
Two years – and 20 podcast guests later – the answer is an obvious “ yes .”
Mitch and former NJSACOP President John Zebrowski have been hosting the “ ChiefTalk ” podcast since its inception , developing powerful 45-minute segments with leaders in law enforcement on the local , state , and national level .

The guest list has served as a “ who ’ s who ” in law enforcement , featuring the FBI-Newark Special Agent in Charge , the State Attorney General , the Chief of NJ Transit Police , the State Police Superintendent , and the chair of the New Jersey Casino Control Commission – just to name a few of those who have appeared .
“ We are now receiving a steady stream of inquiries from individuals who are interested in appearing on our podcast or supporting it in some way ,” Sklar said . “ Everyone has a great story to tell from their own perspective about law enforcement . The stories we hear are engaging ; the perspective is top-notch . Hosting the podcast has become one of the most fun parts of the job , while providing a great resource to our members .”
The podcasts , produced and edited at Jaffe Communications in Cranford , can be accessed through iTunes or however else listeners access podcasts . Segments are all archived on a NJSACOP website – njsacop-podcast . org – so you never miss a great conversation .
Sklar said the show has already generated sponsors and advertisers , who want to take advantage of the concentrated listenership among police chiefs in New Jersey and other prominent members of law enforcement . Each and every episode will live on the website for years to come , providing ongoing advertising value .
ChiefTalk will play a prominent role at the 111 th - NJSACOP Annual Training Conference and Police Security Expo in Atlantic City , June 26-29 , where interviews of podcast guests will be taking place at the center of the trade show floor .
“ We are excited to bring the show to Atlantic City so attendees can watch our interviews being taped live at Exhi-bition Hall ,” said Zebrowski , the co-host . “ Not only will this further raise awareness of ChiefTalk and the NJSA-COP , but we expect to have some tremendous guests and line up many more for our upcoming segments .”
Besides podcast participants getting a major platform to discuss their initiatives , Sklar and Zebrowski are pleased to present each with a souvenir ChiefTalk mug , now proudly placed on desks throughout the state and beyond .
