The Cambridge Centre is proud to announce that Professor Lawrence Sherman is moving to New Scotland Yard to become the first ever Chief Scientific Officer for The Metropolitan Police Service in London . NJSACOP members and stakeholders will recall that Lawrence has deep New Jersey roots and was instrumental in arranging for the special opportunity available to our police professionals to pursue an onlinecentered Certificate from the Cambridge Centre for Evidence-based Policing .
Even though Larry is now on the chief officer team at the Met , the rest of the team at the Cambridge Centre will continue Professor Sherman ' s work , to advance the global professional movement for Evidence-Based Policing . The Centre has a thriving programme of training and consultation , with new courses on PCSOs , Criminal Network Analysis , Spatial-Temporal Hot Spots Analysis , and other topics . We are confident that the Centre will continue to grow , and to play a vital global role in spreading the knowledge about EBP .
