The New Jersey Police Chief Magazine | September 2019 Continued from previous page The week was rounded out with the presentation of certificates to all of the attendees from The Scottish Police College and the NJSACOP, as well as our own certificates of appreciation to our colleagues at both of our international partners. While this seminar stands on its own, it also fits into the overall NJSACOP professional development portfolio. Participants receive units that can be used towards qualification for the Accredited Chief/Command Executive certification designation, a statewide, voluntary professional credentialing program instituted and administered by the NJSACOP. Additionally, participants in the program are eligible for 3 credits towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Quite naturally, I am proud to say that the program was an unqualified success. However, anyone that knows anything about our Association knows that we are not content to rest on our laurels. We are indeed already planning for our next endeavor in conjunction with the College of Policing, with plans for the next Senior Leaders Seminar already underway. We are exceptionally fortunate to have developed a working partnership with international colleagues, such as those at Police Scotland and the Scottish Police College, and grateful for all that they have done to ensure that this program was an unforgettable experience. In particular, special thanks are owed to DCI Dave Annets of Leadership Lessons Ltd., Superintendent John Wyllie, Head of International Development and Innovation Unit Police Scotland, Scottish Police College, and Fiona Halliday, International Development and Innovation Officer International Development and Innovation Unit, Police Scotland. Dave, John and Fiona went above and beyond the call of duty in their efforts on our behalf. Dave is a true professional - a skilled police educator, an experienced and accomplished police officer, and a great person as well. We are truly indebted to him. As future plans develop for other unique professional development opportunities we will keep you informed. As the saying goes, “stay tuned.” To view the full photo album, please visit: https://njsacop.smugmug.com/2019-NJSACOPScottish-Police-College-Senior-Leaders-Course-at Mitchell C. Sklar, Esq.
