100 Years Ago – April 1917 The NJSACOP Monthly State Chiefs Meeting for April 1917 was held at the Court House in Newark, NJ. The Prosecutor of Pleas, J. Harry Harrison, was introduced by Chief Fred Weimer, of the Prosecutor’ s staff.“ He gave a most interesting and instructive talk, and assured all Chiefs of Police present of his hearty co-operation.”

90 Years Ago – April 1927 The NJSACOP Monthly State Chiefs Meeting for April 1927 was held at the Court House in Newark, NJ. Under reports of Officers, the Treasurer reported that there was a bank balance of $ 6,161.03, and also a report from the Financial Secretary that all members were now in good standing.
Chief Ellis Parker Burlington Co. Prosecutor’ s Office
The Investigating( Membership) Committee reported favorably on the applications of Chief Ellis Parker( Burlington County Prosecutor’ s Office), Chief Frank Harrold( Atlantic County Prosecutor’ s Office), Chief Patrick Doran( Atlantic City), Chief William Higgins( Glen Ridge), and Chief Edward Doyle( Secaucus).

The request of Chief Wright of Pitman to host the May meeting was considered and it was decided that the request would be granted.
35 Years Ago – April 1982 The NJSACOP Monthly State Chiefs Meeting for April 1982 was held at the American Legion Hall in Hightstown, NJ. President Philip Coppolino reported that“ he had request regarding the use of automatic weapons. A count was taken as to how many departments are currently using automatic weapons. Seven departments were accounted for.”
