Another great conference has come and gone . Our annual conference and the Police-Security Expo held in Atlantic City was a great success . I would like to thank the men and women of the Ocean County Police Chief ’ s Association for all their hard work in organizing the conference and for their continuing support as I begin my term as President of our Association .
I would be remiss if I did not thank Chief John Zebrowski , our immediate past President for all his hard work this past year . Chief Zebrowski recently announced his retirement and I wish him well in all his future endeavors .
Summer is typically a time for fishing on our boats , barbequing with friends and enjoying vacations with family before our children return to school and our work / life balance is once again tested . It typically is a more relaxed time for our association as well . Not this year .
Late June , saw the full-scale return of the Police-Security Expo and our annual conference in Atlantic City . I was honored to be inducted as the 107 th President of our great association . Immediately , after the conference your executive board hit the ground running making sure our association ’ s voice was heard on the issue of police licensing and more recently participating in a dialogue about the future of random drug testing of police officers for marijuana as well as engaging in education outreach visits with some of our legislative leaders .
One of the goals I set for my year as president is to increase the visibility of our association and to ensure that our voice is heard in Trenton on any issues involving our profession . I have been working diligently on that so far and plan to use this forum to keep our members informed on our progress . Please feel free to contact me or any other member of the executive board if you have any suggestions on how to better serve our membership .
