I snore terribly and have been diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea . I have a CPAP machine , but I can ’ t get comfortable with it , so I hardly ever use it . My wife says my snoring is driving her crazy . What can I do ? Ralph , Montville
Ralph , I ’ m sorry to hear about this . The first thing I ’ d like to stress is that no matter how annoying the snoring can be to your wife , what is even worse is that untreated obstructive sleep apnea can lead to many other health problems . It ’ s more than feeling tired the next day , which is awful enough . You could end up with many other serious medical issues .
If you have been trying CPAP for a while and it really isn ’ t working for you , I recommend you talk to a sleep specialist . There are other options for those who cannot tolerate CPAP , including Inspire , a small , FDA-approved implanted device that works with your natural breathing process to treat sleep apnea . I have seen remarkable results in that are using it . Please don ’ t let your obstructive sleep apnea go untreated , talk to your doctor .
