The New Jersey Police Chief Magazine | May 2022
May is “ Mental Health Awareness Month ” in New Jersey , and the first week of the month is designated as “ Children ’ s Mental Health Awareness Week ”.
There couldn ’ t be a more critical time to talk about mental health issues , especially as it relates to children and youth and the impact of the last two years on their emotional and mental health and wellbeing .
To continue to support youth mental health , we need you !
We ask that our system partners in law enforcement , as well as the community at-large , maintain awareness of some of the presenting behaviors as described in this info-graphic . Help is available for children and youth , but we all have to remain vigilant , and make the call . Additional mental health service information can be found on the Department of Children and Families , Children ’ s System of Care website at this link : DCF | Children ' s System of Care ( nj . gov )
