EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR ’ S REPORT

When We Say “ Register Early ” – We ’ re Serious Your Great Support and Participation is Very Much Appreciated
I have previously published a similar message , but in light of several recent conversations with some of our members , I think it appropriate to pass along the message once again . And that message can be summed up quite easily : Register early .
Each month at the NJSACOP State Chiefs Briefing I report on the Association ’ s full slate of professional development programs , and end with the admonition ( at the risk of repeating myself ) to “ register early .” That ’ s not just a sales pitch – due to your great support , our programs are more popular than ever , and are selling out and filling up at an unprecedented rate .
I always say that people vote with their feet , and we are very gratified that our members clearly value the programming that we are presenting for them and their personnel . While of course this is a great thing for the Association , it ’ s not so great for those who register for one of our seminars or programs , only to find out that they have been put on a waiting list . We are doing our best to accommodate everyone who wishes to attend our programs , but sometimes there is simply not enough room for everyone who wishes to attend . We ask for your understanding , and again , if you and / or members of your department want to attend one of our programs – register early .
Additionally , we are consistently moving forward with the development of new , additional professional development opportunities so as to allow as many of our members and others to take advantage of all that we have to offer . As with our current portfolio of programs and courses , these are likely to fill up shortly after being introduced .
As I write this , the Association is currently accepting registrations for the 2022 session of our unique “ Advanced Professional Policing Practices Seminar ” which as usual is being developed with the assistance of the London Metropolitan Police and the City of London Police . This exceptional program has very limited registration – in fact , by the time this article is actually published , the program is likely to be completely full . In short order we will be announcing the opening of registration for additional programs , including the 2022 Antietam Leadership Experience Staff Ride , and the 2022 Senior Leaders Course . The program brochures and registration information will on our website and sent via our E-Lert system , and , well , the best recommendation I can make is - “ register early .”
