EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR ’ S REPORT
MITCHELL C . SKLAR
The New Jersey Police Chief Magazine | February 2021
Mark Your Calendars Each March , my monthly magazine article begins something along the lines of the following :
The month of March marks the real beginning of the NJSACOP ’ s annual programming calendar , which goes strong right through the spring and early summer , and then picks up again towards the end of summer and right through the autumn up to the holiday season .
While ( no surprise ) conditions are not yet such that we can announce a resumption of our “ normal ” programming calendar , we are making plans to resume our schedule of meetings , programs , courses , and other activities perhaps as early as June . Naturally , these plans are tentative , subject to prevailing conditions and state regulations , and in any event will all be conducted in conformance with best practices and safety standards .
The NJSACOP works hard to present a wide variety of professional enrichment and professional development options for our members and their personnel . While every program may not be of interest or viable to any one individual , we hope that the wide breath of our portfolio provides something of value to most , if not all , of our members and colleagues . We also conduct important and informative meetings and other events .
Please also note that we will also continue with the programming scheduled on our newly established NJSACOP e-Learning Center . We fully expect that , even following resumption of a fully active in-person calendar . The feedback has been excellent for our online offerings and will continue to be a component of our portfolio of services moving forward .
So , with that in mind , get out your calendars ( or tablets or iPods or Androids , or whatever the latest tools in your pocket or on your desk are these days ) and block out the following dates :
