EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S REPORT

The Newest Addition to the Association’s Professional Development
Portfolio: The NJSACOP e-Learning Center
‘Chance favors only the mind that is prepared.’ - Louis Pasteur
The New Jersey Police Chief Magazine | July/August 2020
Long before the current public health crisis, and the restrictions that it brought in its wake,
the Association has been working on the addition of an online component for our
Professional Development Division. This new component was planned to supplement our
robust (and justifiably well-regarded) portfolio of professional development courses and seminars.
The new NJSACOP e-Learning Center is the association’s new portal for online learning, professional
development, and executive briefing opportunities. As the saying goes, timing is everything, and of course the
timing could not be better for the launching of a new hub for ‘virtual’ learning. In keeping with the practice
established for our more traditional professional development programming, the e-Learning Center will offer a
wide variety of high quality, contemporary, cutting edge offerings that will benefit those who participate, their
agencies, and the communities that they serve.
The Association recognizes that it is not only the ability to gather together in person that has changed; we are
well aware how tight budgets are in today’s environment as well. Accordingly, we are keeping costs and fees as
low as possible and are also offering no-cost programming through the e-Learning Center.
Elsewhere in this edition of the New Jersey Police Chief you will find more information on our current offerings. As
usual, keep an eye out for email updates and registration information, or check out the e-Learning Center under
the Professional Development Division tab at the NJSACOP website.
Looking forward to “seeing” our members and stakeholders in the new NJSACOP e-Learning Center.
