business, and 122nd best
country to start a business.
The ranking is benchmarked

Assembly has elected Nigeria
alongside Chad, Chile,

Launched
A new interactive languageteaching app has been
developed and recently
launched in Lagos, Nigeria.
The app combines modern
technology with cultural
content to teach Nigerian
children three of Nigerian
most popular languages;
Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa. The
programme teaches
indigenous Nigerian folk
stories and various aspects of
Nigerian culture through
animation, voices and a
virtual classroom. The
language-teaching app was
produced by Genii Games.
Desperate Housewives
Africa Debuts In Nigeria
Popular American TV show,
Desperate Housewives , is set
to debut in Nigeria soon.
Nigeria's EbonyLife TV and
Disney Media DistributionEMEA will co-produce the
new series of the show.
Organizers announced that
the African version of the
show would feature an
'African soul' and engage
African audiences as well as
promote Nigerian fashion
designers and pan-African
acting talents.
Abuja, Nigeria's Capital City,
Wins UN Public Service
Delivery Award
Nigeria's Federal Capital
Territory, Abuja, has won the
United Nations public service
delivery excellence award in
a keenly contested
competition with 601 entries
around the world. The award
was given on the
performance of the FCT's
Millennium Development
Goals (MDGs) in providing
mobile public health care (
M A I L A F I YA ) t o r u r a l
dwellers. The award was
received by FCT Minister,
Senator Bala Mohammed at
the ongoing 2013 United
Nations Public Service
Forum in Manama, Bahrain
capital.
Nigeria signs Bilateral Air
Services Agreement with
Israel
Nigeria has signed the
Bilateral Air Services
Agreement (BASA) with the
State of Israel. The agreement
is aimed at facilitating easy
and direct daily ?ights from
Nigeria to Israel and vice
versa. It will also make
enormous impact in the areas
of trade and investment,
agriculture, construction,
tourism, security, capacity
building as well as boost the
volume of trade between
Nigeria and the state of Israel.
