The desecration of an abandoned castle
We forged through bodies
wandering eyes
rough hands
and in the chill of Autumn
the frost of winter...
we kneeled down to you
we trusted your smile
The castle walls were built strong
thick
closer inspection however
showed cracks and foreign growth
a black mold rotting the stone
when we let you in
you smiled
scratching off the mold, filling
all the cracks
This night froze my blood
the mention of your name
the castle
now showing a virus you
had left behind
your fingers cut too deep
the castle hasn't fallen yet
but dear god when it does
the castle was yours
we trusted your smile
and you desecrated the walls
the stone
the heart
