Farewells

I didn’t think of this formerly

But you’re the one I’m going to miss

I’ll miss you the most

Thank you for the months of bliss

I know you went through tribulations

Life is a real kicker for sure

And maybe you’ll think this is trivial

When I say I wish we could have seen each other more

And yes it would be lying

If our conversations at one point

Had not made me sharper

And left stitches in my joints

Even so I bounced back

Prosaically to make sure

You had at least one spark in your life

Though I’m sure you found me a bore

I’ll try my most

To bestow on you a heart everyday

No matter the strain

Because it will keep your pessimism away

So goodbye my trim and bright confidant

I’ll miss your ingratiating grin

The warmth of your embrace

And your heart made of copper and tin.
