Why should you also find a penfriend? Besides the goodies you can exchange with your partner, it allows you to learn about other countries from a personal perspective. You can also practice a foreign language. In most cases the language of correspondence is English but it can be any language you and your penfriend speak. You don't have to speak the foreign language perfectly, your penfriend is probably not an expert either and the point is to have fun. The letters don't have to be plain and boring, use your imagination and creativity. Create your own stationery or download from the Internet, use stickers, washi tapes or whatever comes to your mind.
Here at Irony Hey one of the English groups in 7th grade decided to find penfriends in another country. With the help of the Cambridge Penfriends website we contacted a school in Belarus and sent our letters. Now we're waiting for their reply, which is on its way to Israel. We can hardly wait!
