Book Review
R.A. Salvatore - Homeland
Book 1 in the Dark Elf Trilogy, part of the Forgotten Realms super-series
RA Salvatore describes something extraordinary and unusual. Usually dark elves are nasty, dark and only care about themselves. Drizit dwoOrdan and his father Zknfein from Mnzovrnzn Underdark, however, are different. Unlike other dark elves who worship Lliot' or Lolt' and only care about their own house (family) becoming the most powerful and influential in Mnzovrnzn, they also care about others. They will not kill without solid and justified reasons although they can, they are also the best fencers and sword fighters in the world.
The story is about the life of Drizit dwoOrdan who betrays his family and leaves it. He goes on a quest to discover worlds, demons, gods and friends. His journey is full of enemies because of his activities, and friends for his kindness and his friendship. He also finds out that not everything is as it seems and that he should not be misled by appearances. He will fight to keep, protect and save his friends. He will make mistakes, but will correct his ways.
Strongly recommended.
