The wave
Hello, here I am going to recommend a book that I have read.
The book's name is 'The Wave'.
The book is about a history experiment that got out of control.
The story starts in Ben's history class. Ben was a history teacher who showed his class a movie about the Holocaust.
In the movie they saw what happened there, Hitler's taking control …
One of his students asked how it can be that someone would let Hitler take control and tell others what do to without any resistance.
He didn't know the answer. He came home and did a research.
He decided to do an experiment. He created a group that he called the Wave. The Wave accepts anyone no matter who he is. He wanted to show them how easy is to control others so easily (with an idea, some rules and a few words). The group rules were :
-Stand near the desk and say MR. Ross while talking.
- Respect and listen to anyone.
- Bring the equipment to class.
The Wave's slogans were:
“Strength through discipline”, "Strength through community" and "Strength through action ". In the beginning it was a big success. The situation was good, even the class loser (Robert Billings ) became popular.
It got worse with time and got to a situation that everybody had to have the same opinions. It was a bit like in the Holocaust. Only Laurie stood up against the 'Wave'. It took some time but in the end everything got back to normal and everyone was ok.
Main characters
Laurie Saunders is kind of the story's hero. She is a pretty girl . She is a smart girl with very good grades.
- Ben Ross
A history teacher at Gordon High. Doesn't like suits and
ties. A smart and intellectual man that lives to read and do
researches
- Robert Billings
The class loser. He is usually a bad students with bad
marks. Ben Ross thinks he is a real problem. Gets
treated by his class bad and ugly.
I recommend you to read this book. It was very interesting. After all it is a real story. I loved the story. The subject is nice and it is written well.
