The traditions of Pocklington School are important and they are to be proud of . But what is more important is the wellbeing of our children , how they learn and that as a school we progress in modern times …. Family life has changed considerably over the years and we , like many other parents value our quality family time tremendously . It is extremely precious and flies by quickly ! We are firm believers in a happy child will learn , an anxious one will not . We know the children will still have to be at school for sports fixtures and that ’ s great and we fully support that and indeed the strong sport reputation that Pocklington has . But even just going at a slower pace on a Saturday and all having breakfast together and discussing what the day and the weekend has in store would be a big improvement on family life .
